Armada Mezzanine has recruited Mikael Niemi as an associate

Mikael Niemi has been recruited as an associate to Armada Mezzanine, he joined the team as of 1 August 2011. Prior to joining Armada Mezzanine Mikael worked for six years at the investment banking departments of Carnegie Investment Bank and ABN AMRO where he focused on mergers & acquisitions and equity capital market transactions. Mikael holds a M.Sc. degree in Finance from Hanken School of Economics and a M.Sc. degree in Automation from Helsinki University of Technology.

Armada Mezzanine elects Ari Bergman as the Chairman of the board

Armada Mezzanine Capital has elected Ari Bergman as its Chairman and a member of its Industrial Advisory Board. Previously, Ari acted as the Head of Investment Banking of Carnegie Finland for six years. Prior to that he served 14 years at Citigroup Investment Banking mainly in London, along with Helsinki, lastly as a Managing Director responsible for all investment banking products for the Finnish clients. Ari holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Turku.

Mezzanine investment in Apotek Hjärtat in Sweden

Eqvitec Mezzanine Fund III (under the name change to Armada Mezzanine Fund III) has provided mezzanine financing for the acquisition of over 200 pharmacies, under the brand Apotek Hjärtat, by Altor Fund III. The transaction was signed in November 9th, 2009, with final closing on February 2010. Apotek Hjärtat will from the outset be the largest independent pharmacy retail chain in Sweden.

Eqvitec spins out its mezzanine business to the mezzanine team

Eqvitec Partners Oy announced today that it has decided to focus its operations on equity based growth financing and sell its mezzanine operations to Armada Mezzanine Capital Oy, established by a team consisting of Pertti Nurmio, Ilkka Santti and Jan Wiklund, previously responsible for the mezzanine business at Eqvitec. The disposal of the mezzanine operations allows Eqvitec to focus purely on equity investments in Nordic technology oriented growth companies. Further, the transaction offers Armada Mezzanine more focused and dedicated operations for the benefit of its stakeholders.
